Dr Rochelle Schwartz brings over 35 years of experience as a Family Physician in private practice to Genesis Professional Group and has a special interest in proactive, integrative medicine and healthcare advocacy. She is well-recognized for her unconditional commitment to providing excellence in healthcare to her patients and is a highly respected family physician in the medical community and to her specialist colleagues in Ontario.

Dr. Schwartz received her BSC from the University of Calgary and was awarded the University College Gold Medal for achieving the highest academic proficiency in her field of study in science. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine University of Toronto in 1983 and completed her family practice residency at North York General Hospital and Sunnybrook Medical Center. In the late 1990’s, she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship Designation for excellence in Family Practice from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Schwartz is currently on staff at North York General Hospital.

Dr. Schwartz  has been an advocate for cancer patients across Canada since 2010. She and her family were instrumental in raising $2 million to bring a unique and revolutionary cancer treatment technology from John Hopkins Medical Center in the USA and Champions Oncology in Israel to Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto. Together they created “The Panov Program in Precision Chemotherapy” for sarcoma cancer patients and their families in Canada. The Panov Program research initiative continues until today as a legacy to Dr. Schwartz’s husband Yaron Panov who died of sarcoma in 2017 at the age of 62. It is a reminder to our oncologist colleagues and cancer hospitals, that resilience and perseverance can bring changes and advancement in improving treatments and technology to our patients and the health care system across Canada.
